PLACES TO SEE
- Chamonix and Mt Blanc - Europes highest mountain, also the Mer du
Glace, which is Europes longest glacier with a vertical drop of 3500 metres.
You can travel to the top of the Aguille Du Midi and a historic rack railway
train can be taken to the amazing ice caves under the Mer du Glace.
- Yvoire - a medieval village on Lac Leman, including the garden of the
five senses.
- Thonon on Lac Leman - Six swimming pools set in beautiful gardens.There
is also a health spa.
- Sixt Fer a Cheval - One of Frances most famous National Parks. The
valley is surrounded by cliffs which soar several thousamd metres high in
the shape of a horseshoe around the park. There are some fantastic
waterfalls, and marvelous walks to be enjoyed here.
- Gorge du Pont Diable - A remarkable example of water corrosion.
- At Les Gets we have Europes most famous Music Meccanic Museum .You can experience the finest
miniature music box demonstrated tright through of the grandest automatic organ.
- Chateau De Ripaille - A 15th century chateau, again overlooking Lac
Leman.
- Just along from the chateau, you have a beautiful little fishing
port and marina, with some restaurants lining the edge of the Lac.There are
plenty of things to amuse the children.
- Mussee Du Horlogerie - The 200 year old watch making and scientific
instrument making heritage.in Cluses.
- Lac Annecy - The capital of the Haute Savoie. This beautiful old
town, is set amongst a labrinth of canals, weaving in between arched ancient
stone walls and buildings containing boutiques and restaurants. All along
the canals you have an abundance of flowerboxes placed every few yards, and
many ducks and swans cruise the canals.
